Nick Brunger has performed for thirty years as a magician and storyteller.
He created Strange Tales from the Darker Side - a show he has performed in countless castles and museums, abandoned courtrooms and prisons as well as in stately homes, theatres and at festivals of all kinds.
He is also a disturbingly good teller of Ghost Stories, appearing somewhere spooky near you and has led many Halloween ghost walks for the Welsh heritage organisation CADW, English Heritage, The National Trust and the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
An experienced traditional storyteller, he ran a popular monthly storytelling cafe in Carmarthen and was a frequent "headline guest" at other clubs and spoken word events in the South Wales. He was also regularly employed to relate local legends and folk tales to tourist parties from home and overseas.
He was Creative Director director of the Mansion of Mystery Escape Rooms at Picton Castle, runner-up at the Welsh Tourism "Croeso Awards" as Visitor Attraction of the Year for 2022 and is currently designing escapes for their new venue in St Clears in Carmarthenshire. He is also proprietor of The Spooky Magic Company and leader of "horrible history" walks. His Creepy Carmarthen tour was 2013's Visitor Attraction of the Year and has been featured on TV, radio and in national newspapers.
Nick is proud to have won the "Hex Factor" competition against strong competition from both the UK and overseas at the 2023 international Doomsday convention for Gothic magicians and storytellers.
In a former life he spent thirty-five years as an award-winning BBC producer and presenter, programme controller and editor.
